See Sylvia on Broadway

Spend an autumn afternoon on Broadway with Great Neck Public Schools Community Education. See a matinee performance of A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Prior to the show, enjoy a relaxed, prix-fixe lunch at Glass House Tavern (choice of appetizer, entrée, dessert and beverage). Luxury coach bus will depart from the Cumberland Adult Center, 30 Cumberland Ave., at 9:45 a.m., and return to the center at approximately 6 p.m.

SylviaSylvia has returned to Broadway with three Tony winners: Matthew Broderick, Annaleigh Ashford and Julie White. Daniel Sullivan, who won a Tony Award for his direction of Proof, will direct this production.
In Sylvia, the world of middle-aged, New York City empty-nesters is turned topsy-turvy when the husband (Broderick) brings home an exceptionally engaging canine (Ashford) that he finds running loose in Central Park. Sylvia has been embraced by dog lovers as well as those who relate to its timely message of the need to connect in an increasingly impersonal world.

Trip leader is Amy Orange, teacher of the arts. The fee is $152 (includes lunch, orchestra seat, transportation and gratuities). To register, phone the Community Ed Office at 516-441-4949.
