Renowned Glen Cove artist Hugo Alex Rivas’ artwork will be displayed in the Village of Great Neck Plaza courtroom gallery as part of the plaza’s monthly art exhibit. An Artist Reception will be held in the Village Hall court room on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The community is invited to meet the artist and view his work during the free show. Rivas’ work will be on display through the end of January during village office hours on Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Rivas, a Salvadorian artist, has had his work displayed in many high-profile locations, including the General Consulate of El Salvador in New York, the Town of Hempstead’s Town Hall, the Town of Babylon’s Town Hall, the Village of Hempstead’s Village Hall, the Immigration Legal Services of Long Island and the United National and International Spanish Alliance League. Rivas also had his artwork on display at the village courtroom gallery last year, earning rave reviews from visitors. Great Neck residents might recognize Rivas’ work from the murals decorating La Rotunda Restaurant as well as the lobby at 8 Bond St. in the Plaza.
