Due to the impending snow this weekend, the Gold Coast Arts Center’s Wonder Women reception that was scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. The best works of art from nine accomplished contemporary women artists will premiere this Sunday, Jan. 24. The show has been extended and will now run through March 20.
The exhibition will feature the works of these acclaimed artists, who create thought-inspired, highly individual pieces. Increasingly, women are impacting the world of contemporary art, inspiring new generations of illustrators, designers, sculptors and painters. Wonder Women mirrors the expanding number of contemporary female artists featured in galleries, museums and private collections—and celebrated in March on International Women’s Day.
The featured artists are Veronique Barrillot, Megan Sirianni Brand, Karen Dimit, Nancy Gesimondo, Fran Kaufman, Donna Levinstone, Bonnie Rothchild, Shiro and Ann Tanksley. From elegant sculptures to wondrous graffiti art, realistic illustrations and bold paintings, the artwork on display truly highlights the fascinating and imaginative creations produced by these artists throughout their careers.
