Theatre South will present Rumors on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3, 4, 5 and 6, each evening at 7:30 p.m. All performances will take place in the South High School auditorium at 341 Lakeville Rd.
Rumors is Neil Simon’s first farce and one of his most celebrated comedies. The story takes place during the 10th anniversary dinner party of the deputy mayor of New York and his wife. Things go awry from the start—the host “accidentally” shoots himself in the earlobe and his wife and the kitchen staff are missing. As the guests arrive, the party continues with confusion and miscommunication. By the evening’s end all are engaged in a cover-up that no one really understands.
Rumors contains strong language and may not be appropriate for younger audience members.
