NYBC Opens In Massapequa

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Joseph G. Pinto (left) recently attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly opened New York Blood Donor Center in Massapequa. New York Blood Center (NYBC) is one of the largest community-based, nonprofit blood collection and distribution organizations in the United States. Through the integrated efforts of various blood service operations, NYBC annually provides one million blood components to nearly 200 hospitals throughout the New York/New Jersey area. Pictured with Councilman Pinto for the ribbon cutting ceremony are Nassau County Legislator James Kennedy (second from left) and Senator Michael Venditto (right) who presented a Proclamation to Harvey Schaffler, the Executive Director of Donor Marketing at the New York Blood Center in recognition of the newly-opened Blood Donor Center in Massapequa providing a valuable and lifesaving service to the local community and beyond.
