North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, New York State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, representatives from the Town of North Hempstead’s Project Independence and the Great Neck Social Center brought more than 20 Persian seniors to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Garden City to receive their non-driver photo identification cards. This effort was also spearheaded by Parvaneh Khodadadian, founder of the center’s Persian Club. The town utilized the Department of Community Services’ van to transport seniors from the Social Center to the DMV.
