For the second year straight, the Port Washington Vikings Ice Hockey team has clinched a spot in the New York State High School Club Hockey Championships, which will be held in Jamestown, NY, on March 3 to 5.
The Vikings had another stellar season, finishing 15-2-1 in league play and defeating Sewanhaka by a score of 10-1 in their first playoff game, before falling to rival Bellmore-Merrick in the county championship on Feb. 23.
The team won last year’s Nassau County Championship with a victory over Bellmore-Merrick.
The Vikings are led by Head Coach Jordan Caruso and assistant coaches Linda Caruso, Alex Caruso and Jake Lublin, and on the ice by co-captains Sam Contino, Kyle DiLeo and William Longmire, with the support of Fred Nielsen and the Port Washington Skating Center.
