New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli will speak at Metropolitan Commercial Bank’s inaugural networking event for Great Neck business owners on Monday, March 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
DiNapoli will discuss the business landscape and provide insight into New York state initiatives designed to help businesses. The comptroller will also touch upon tax implications from new regulations, and oversight at the state level.
“Thriving local businesses are the hallmarks of a successful community and a strong economy,” said DiNapoli. “Mid-sized businesses account for more than half of all private-sector-employment in New York and generate more than $950 billion in annual revenues.”
That’s why Metropolitan Commercial Bank planned the event. “As a middle market bank, we understand the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our clients, as well as the importance of staying current and being well-informed to remain competitive,” said Mark DeFazio, CEO of Metropolitan Commercial Bank. “New York State Comptroller DiNapoli shares our enthusiasm for helping businesses succeed.”
DiNapoli continued, “For New York to grow, we need local businesses to grow. Metropolitan Commercial Bank deserves credit for connecting business owners and professionals with the resources and tools they need to succeed.”
Along with being the event’s keynote speaker, DiNapoli will meet individually with business owners to discuss ways to take advantage of the many Empire State Development grants and tax incentives that New York State offers business owners.
DeFazio and other senior banking officials from Metropolitan Commercial Bank will also be available to discuss the many personal and business banking programs offered by the bank that are designed to build and preserve wealth.
The networking event, which will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, will be held in the bank’s lobby at 111 Great Neck Rd. in Great Neck Plaza. This event is the first in a series planned by the bank, intended to provide a platform for experts to share their knowledge with local business owners and professionals.
