F. Jacob Cherian, an internationally known businessman and entrepreneur, spoke at the regular breakfast meeting of the Rotary Club of Great Neck on Wednesday, March 9.
Cherian’s background includes stints on Wall Street and as an adjunct professor at the Fordham University MBA program. In addition to his overseas positions, he is also the CEO of SMC Global USA.
A resident of Manhasset Hills, Cherian spoke extemporaneously about the global interconnectedness between the U.S., other developed countries and also emerging market economies. He stressed that it’s no longer a situation where, “when the U.S. sneezes, the whole world suffers a cold,” but rather whenever almost any country has an economic problem, it affects the U.S. and the rest of the world.
The Rotary Club of Great Neck invites local residents and business-people to attend its breakfast meetings to learn how Rotary benefits the town and how they can participate. The group meets Wednesday mornings at 8 a.m. in the boardroom of TD Bank at 2 Great Neck Rd.
