To kickoff the school’s annual Parents As Reading Partners program (PARP), Eastplain Elementary School in the Plainedge School District hosted
imaginative author Joe Shandrowski.
In his Huga Tuga Live Pep Rally for Reading presentation, Shandrowski took students through the process of creating characters, as well as writing and illustrating his book Huga Tuga and the Seashell Mystery. During his visit, he really stressed to students the importance of the imagination and reading.
