Sunday, April 10, was a glorious day to enjoy baseball and some live music featuring South Salem’s own fifth-grade chorus. The Salem community celebrated its spirit with the New York Mets at Citi Field with almost 350 parents, grandparents and children in attendance. The fifth-graders entertained the crowd on Mets Plaza with a set of pop favorites, including, of course, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Although the Mets lost to the Phillies, fun was had by all. The Salem community showed its spirit cheering on the Mets while enjoying time with family and friends. Congratulations to the fifth-graders on a job well done and a special thanks to Music Director Stephen Connolly for all of his help and support in making this day possible. Go Mets!
