Starbucks Rolls Into Town

starbucksStarbucks at the Farmingdale train station held an official grand opening/ribbon cutting on April 28 with the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, village officials and dignitaries, family, friends and the community.

Owned by Lisa and Phil Cirrone (who also operate Stuff-a-Bagel on Main Street), their daughter Kristy, and Robert Lee, the brand new Starbucks is a welcome addition to the bustling Farmingdale LIRR station. According to the MTA, more than 4,000 commuters take the train via the Farmingdale LIRR station daily. The new Starbucks is located at 121 Secatogue Ave. in Farmingdale Village, in the brand new building at The Jefferson at Farmingdale Plaza.

The Jefferson is a newly-completed, mixed-used housing and retail project near the LIRR station, featuring 154 rental units built by TDI Real Estate Holdings, a national developer of multi-family housing, in conjunction with local Farmingdale developer Bartone Properties. The apartments and amenities were completed some months ago, and the center is now ready to open its doors to a variety of new shops, including a new Starbucks coffeehouse. The new apartments at The Jefferson features amenities such as easy access to the train station, a clubhouse featuring a gym, game room and media center, ample parking and a dog park.

Everyone enjoyed free samples, raffles and giveaways at the celebration.

Phil Cirrone said, “We’re so excited about opening our new Farmingdale coffeehouse as we continue to offer new locations to our customers, extending the unique Starbucks experience into every community. We hope that our convenient spot right at the train station will help the many morning commuters have a more pleasant ride.”

Cirrone added that Starbucks is committed to supporting the Farmingdale community through volunteer efforts, in-kind contributions, and partnering with local community and nonprofit organizations.
