Rabbi Jeffrey Kobrin, North Shore Hebrew Academy head of school, was selected as the representative of Jewish educators from across the country at a White House ceremony on Tuesday, May 3.
Held in the East Wing on Teacher Appreciation Day, Rabbi Kobrin joined some 300 fellow educators, including 50 state educators of the year, National Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes and Secretary of Education Dr. John B. King. President Barack Obama honored those assembled with a warm address, thanking them for their efforts in and out of the classroom.
“It was a remarkable honor and an incredible experience to be included in this event,” said Rabbi Kobrin. “The opportunity to offer and receive thanks for the hard work of educators across the country in the historic East Wing of the White House was absolutely unforgettable.”
