Helen S. McGahan passed away on May 11 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late George McGahan and dear mother of Kathleen Shay and her husband Stephen of Duxbury and Michael McGahan and his wife Susan of New Jersey. McGahan leaves six grandchildren Caela, Patrick, Brenna, Erin, Connor and Annmarie. She is predeceased by a sister Irene and a brother Stanley.McGahan was born and raised in Valley Stream. McGahan and George raised their family in Mineola where they lived for 40 years. They then moved to Mashpee, MA and also spent winters in New Smyrna, FL.
McGahan always had a smile on her face and enjoyed sharing a hearty laugh with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, singing, traveling, and playing bingo!
Funeral services were held last week in Massachusetts.
