Barbara Mazel Solan, 87

Barbara Mazel Solan, 87, died on April 27 in the loving arms of her daughters and eldest grandson. Loving wife of Stephen (deceased), treasured mother of Ellen and Gwen, beloved grandmother of Daniel, Joseph and Benjamin, and great-grandmother of Gianna, Luca, Grayson and William. Beloved mother-in-law, sister-in-law, sister, cousin, aunt, teacher and friend. Barbara was a devoted volunteer and served on the National Council of Jewish Women, was a lifetime member of Hadassah and the board of the Great Neck Social Center, and was the founding president of the Brooklyn Chapter of Cancer Care. Donations in her memory can be made to the National Council of Jewish Women, Lakeville, New York County Chapter, or to the Great Neck Social Center.
