2016 Jones Beach Air Show
Come to Jones Beach for the 13th annual Bethpage Air Show, the event that celebrates the beginning of summer and shines a light on military families as well as honoring those who serve our country. The United States Navy Blue Angels will highlight the show with high flying stunts and gravity maneuvers that never disappoint. The event will also feature the Golden Knights, Breitling Jet Team, GEICO Skytpers, Sean D. Tucker, and the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds. Admission is free, but parking is $10.

Flagging of Graves
American Legion Post 1711, along with the VFW, Boy Scouts and citizens will be at Pinelawn cemetery at 11 a.m. and flag the graves of those who lost their lives. This organized effort honors those vets who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day—Schools Closed
Memorial Day Parade and Flagging
The American Legion Post 1711 will flag graves at the St. John of Jerusalem Cemetery, located on Wantagh Avenue in North Wantagh at 8 a.m. prior to the Memorial Day Parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m. at Island Trees Memorial Middle School down Hempstead Turnpike to Shelter Lane Levittown (Veterans Memorial Park). The parade is sponsored by the Post who will be marching in addition to the VFW and the Korean War veterans association as well as marching bands from Levittown and Island Trees schools. Levittown’s fire and police departments will both be in attendance and marching as well.

Camera Club Seeks Members
Are you interested in photography? Then come join the Wantagh Camera Club (WCC). Meets at the Wantagh Library every second and fourth Wednesday of the month beginning in September and concluding in June. $50 a year.
Levittown Community Council
The Levittown Community Council meets the fourth Monday of every month at the Levittown Public Library at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and free.
