A Coney Classic

sideshow creep show freak showFire-eaters, contortionists and sword-swallowers are just some of the attractions that await guests looking for amusements at the Coney Island Sideshow. An area landmark, the sideshow is a house of wonders, drawing audiences from around the world, curious to see the spectacular oddities that are performed inside.

The historic Sideshows by the Seashore facility is the perfect venue for the show, which is the last traditional 10-in-1 continuous sideshow performing in a circus or amusement context. Show guests can see 10 performers, who will wow audiences with talents typically only seen under a big top. The acts are scripted with traditional dialogue, but include audience participation as guests are invited to interact with performers and some are even called up on stage to take part.

The family friendly show is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Sword juggling, fire breathing and feats of strength amaze, as do the bed of nail feats, glass eating, magic tricks and contortion acts. Watch the Human Gumby contort his body through a tennis racket while another performer swallows a knife. A snake charmer dances with a seven foot python with another entertainer hammers nails into his face. The world-class performers, who don flashy costumes and saucy personalities, are masters in their art and many of them have performed around the world as well as on TV. The sideshow is a Coney classic, and provides welcome reprieve from the crowded boardwalk or lines for rides.

Tickets to the show are $10 for adults and $5 for children with performances running continuously. Find out more about the show at www.coneyisland.com/coney-island-circus-sideshow.
