In light of the October 2015 report by the World Health Organization declaring that hot dogs are as bad as smoking in terms of causing cancer, why run Zox’s Kitchen’s “The Ancient and Forever Popular Hot Dog” in the June 8-14 issue of the Great Neck Record, which suggests that hot dogs should continue to be a widely acceptable food? It is bad enough that the article glorifies the hot dog, but at least include something about its cancer-causing effects, so people can get more informed. The health care costs from chronic diseases resulting from the standard American diet (aka SAD) are bankrupting our country. Articles like this do not help.
