Christopher Peter LoPinto (May 11, 1953–April 14, 2016) passed away at age 62 in Willits, CA, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Son of the late John LoPinto and Celia Spatz LoPinto. Chris and his two sisters grew up in the unique, contemporary home designed by his architect parents. He was a member of the Paul D. Schreiber High School Class of 1971. After high school, he traveled the country, finally settling down in Laytonville, Mendocino County, CA. Over the years, he had several jobs. He worked in construction, then owned and operated Ten Mile Pizza & Cream on Highway 101 in Laytonville for many years, and most recently worked in sales and distribution of Lucas Oil Products. He was elected president of the Laytonville Chamber of Commerce in 1988. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his sisters, Louise LoPinto Hutchison (Evan) of Warwick, NY, and their sons, Benjamin and William; and Andrea LoPinto (Robert Carr) of San Francisco, CA, and their children, Ian and Rose Carr. Also survived by his godsons, Anthony and Davis Tolbert, and very good friend Pamela Purcell. Chris never married, but was engaged to his high school sweetheart, the late Susan Hughes of NY. Chris lived by the words of Will Rodgers, “A stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet,” and enjoyed stopping and chatting with the people he met along his journey through life. He was laid to rest in Laytonville, CA.
