Tom Suozzi, the Democratic nominee for the Third Congressional District, and former Glen Cove Mayor and Nassau County Executive, will hold a rally, with special guest House Democratic Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer, in support of Suozzi’s campaign, on Tuesday, July 19, at 5:30 p.m., at the Great Neck Social Center at 80 Grace Ave.
Officials scheduled to attend the North Hempstead Democratic Rally to Support Tom Suozzi for Congress include Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, Chairman John Ryan, Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, former Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Town Clerk Wayne Wink, Receiver of Taxes Charlie Berman, Councilwoman Lee Seeman, Councilwoman Viviana Russell, Councilman Peter Zuckerman, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe, Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum, former Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman, former U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman and Robert Zimmerman, founder and partner of Zimmerman/Edelson Inc., television political analyst and Democratic national committeeman. The community is welcome.
The Third Congressional District seat is being vacated by Rep. Steve Israel, who announced his retirement from Congress earlier this year, and covers northern portions of Nassau, Queens and Suffolk counties. The election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
