Officers investigated a report of a black Honda striking and damaging a parked vehicle on Seventh Street before leaving the scene without stopping. The driver of the vehicle leaving the scene is described as a 50-year-old white female with blonde hair.

Officers safeguarded a sink hole on Brompton Road; DPW responded to the scene to correct the situation.

July 22
Upon investigating an incident where a vehicle struck a light pole on Hathaway Drive, Officer Reynolds arrested the driver, a 28-year-old Westbury male for DWI (Drugs) and multiple counts of possession of controlled substances including LSD and ketamine.

Officers investigated a two-vehicle crash on Stewart Avenue where one of the vehicles, a red Suburban, reportedly left the scene without stopping. A passenger in the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with a back injury.

A Roxbury Road resident reports that there were numerous disorderly youths in front of his residence and when he confronted them, one youth smacked a phone from his hand, causing it to fall to the ground and become damaged.

Officer Reilly was patrolling Hilton Avenue when his vehicle’s license plate reader indicated the registration of a vehicle that just passed him was suspended. Upon further investigation, the driver, a 39-year-old West Hempstead male, was charged with driving with a revoked license, driving with a suspended registration and uninsured operation.
July 23
Upon investigation of a youth call in the vicinity of the Garden City High School, officers issued appearance tickets to nine 18-year-old males from Garden City for possession of alcohol.

Due to a transformer explosion in Hempstead, officers responded to multiple calls for power outages, residential alarms and traffic light outages in the center portion of the village.
July 24
Officers assisted the Hempstead Police Department with the apprehension of a juvenile on Clinton Road. The subject was in a stolen vehicle that had fled the scene after striking a police vehicle in Hempstead.
July 25
A 19-year-old Garden City male, a 19-year-old West Hempstead male and a 19-year-old Franklin Square male were issued appearance tickets for trespassing in Community Park after closing hours.
July 26
Officer Baker investigated an incident at Garden City Community Park where a 47-year-old Elmont female backed her vehicle into a parked unoccupied vehicle. Upon investigation, the subject was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated DWI (more than .18 percent BAC) and driving with three drivers license suspensions.

A Garden City Plaza business reports that someone cashed three forged checks in the company’s name for a total loss of $3,900.
