Yong Lin, 60, of Great Neck was arrested for assault by Nassau County Third Squad police officers on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
According to detectives, while involved in a verbal argument with his step son-in-law, Lin grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stab him. The 33-year-old victim put his hands up to block the knife and sustained a laceration to his hand. The defendant then continued to stab the victim once in the torso.
Lin’s step son-in-law, who sustained non-life threating injuries, was transported to a local hospital by private auto and is listed in stable condition.
Third Precinct police officers arrested Lin in front of his Tuddington Rd. home. He is being charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, and will be arraigned today, Wednesday, Sept. 14, in First District Court in Hempstead.
