It’s been a busy first 100 days for Lynne Fuentes, the new president of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Since assuming leadership on June 1, Fuentes—the third woman to serve as president in the chapter’s 63-year history—has presided over six committee meetings, three educational seminars and two events, including the group’s annual golf outing at North Hills Country Club in Manhasset and their 15th annual Ellen Gordon CPA’s 4(a) Cause 5k run/walk at Eisenhower Park to support the Island Harvest Food Bank.
A native of Hicksville, Fuentes resides in Bethpage.
“It’s been a busy and fun time,” Fuentes said. “I’m looking forward to continuing the pace and engaging more of our members and the communities we serve.”
The NYSSCPA (nysscpa.org) is the nation’s first professional association for members of the accounting profession. The group has more than 26,000 members across the state with 4,500 in Nassau County alone.
Fuentes is a certified public accountant, a charted global management accountant, and the managing partner at Fuentes & Angel CPAs, LLC—a full-service accounting firm with locations in Bethpage and Sea Cliff. During her 18-year career, she has provided expert accounting and audit-tax-planning services to individuals and numerous Long Island businesses including medical practices, construction companies, and transportation firms.
Fuentes earned her BA in business administration degree from Hofstra University. She has been a member of the NYSSCPA since 2004 and has previously served the Nassau Chapter as a director, secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president-elect.
