PATV will be cablecasting a special programming block dedicated to the memory of the late Norman Hall of Great Neck Estates, who was former president and secretary of the PATV board of directors, a member of Great Neck/North Shore Cable Commission and the founder and director of the PATV Playwrights Project.
On Monday, Aug. 15, Hall’s generous heart stopped beating at age 91, and everyone at PATV has been mourning this great loss. Hall was a major part of PATV from 1994 until his death. His creative talent as an actor, director and playwright garnered him many accolades and awards, one of which was an Emmy for directing One Life to Live in 1983.
Robert M. Schaufeld, PATV board of director’s president, and the entire board, have agreed to rename the PATV Playwrights Project as The Norman Hall Memorial Playwrights Festival. Schaufeld will also be dedicating the control room of Studio A, located in the PATV facility at 1111 Marcus Ave., Suite LL-27, in memory of Norman Hall.
Hall had just finished directing the 2016 winning play The White Chalet by Al Meglin and was getting ready to direct his play I Can See You.
Erica Bradley, PATV executive director, has committed to completing Hall’s production of I Can See You in honor of his memory. Hall had already cast the play, and Charles Wagner IV, an actor and longtime friend and of Hall’s, will step into the role of director as a tribute to him. Upon completion of this production, Bradley will announce the premiere of both plays and dates of cablecast on the PATV channels.
The programming dedicated to Hall will start on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 12 p.m. on PATV Optimum Channel 20 and Verizon Channel 37 and will stream at www.patv.org/livestream. Play productions can be seen at www.patv.org.
