Copiague Man Fatally Hit By Car

A 45-year-old pedestrian was killed while crossing a road in his hometown of Copiague early Friday morning.

Suffolk County police said Juan Vinas-Marte was crossing Great Neck Road at the corner of Dixon Avenue when he was struck by a southbound Honda Accord at 3:40 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was neither injured nor charged.

First Squad detectives impounded the car, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information about this crash to call them at 631-854-8152.
