Winning Start For Marching Bulldogs

bandBy Sami Pye

The Roslyn Marching Bulldogs kicked off their 2016 season with a win at their first competition Sunday. Now moved up to the Small School 2 class, the band beat their rival Division Avenue Marching Band. Previously, the band was in Small School 3. This was the first public performance of the 2016 show titled “Ka.” In 2015, the marching band’s show, “Quidam,” won nearly every division competition and ended the season taking home the first in the state title for Small School 3.

The band has been preparing for the season since early spring, and held a weeklong band camp at Camp Taconic. They are looking forward to a plethora of shows and completions in the weeks to come. This includes the state championship in late October in Syracuse where the band will try to once again come up on top as first in the state. The band also performed this past weekend at the Homecoming 2016 celebrations. The Marching Bulldogs are looking forward to another successful season.
