More than 80 exhibitors and 30 speakers came to the Melville Marriott on Sunday, Sept. 25, to inform and entertain the crowds that attended the Over 50 Fair, founded by East Hills resident Barbara Kaplan.
Attendees discovered classes in such diverse subjects as astrology, psychic readings, yoga, finance, social security, reverse mortgages, weight loss and facial rejuvenation. The singles lounge was a big hit with both the ladies and the men.
The Interfaith Nutrition Network (The INN), a local nonprofit organization that provides aid to Long Island’s needy, collected $180, and 220 pounds of food was donated.
Visitors to the Over 50 Fair always enjoy meeting the senior beauty queens. This year, several joined the event, including Dolores Hofman, C.J. Marie, Jane Rubinstein, Elisabeth Zamarelli, Marleen Schuss and Claire Millman.
