Man Found Unconscious in Hempstead Dies

A 31-year-old man suffering from traumatic injuries who was found unconscious in a park in his hometown of Hempstead died early Wednesday morning, Nassau County police said.

Hempstead village police officers responded to a call that the victim had been found in Brierley Park on Dartmouth Street at 11:52 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The victim, Luis Rustrian Estrada, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

Third Squad detectives and Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
