Autumn is here, bringing with it cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes and fall festival fun for everyone. On Saturday, Oct. 15 the Mothers’ Group of Manhasset (MGM) held its annual Fall Festival and a great time was had by all. MGM co-presidents Holly Wilson and Karen Baumbach would like to thank the North Strathmore Civic Association for allowing the group to hold their event at the historic Onderdonk House. They also extend their thanks to all of the volunteers who helped to ensure that the event ran smoothly, as well as the event chairs, Amy Martella, Andriana McMahon, and Elizabeth McCann for their hard work and creative ideas.
Martella commented that while over 70 children and their families attended the event, it never seemed crowded since there were so many activities to participate in, including pony rides, a petting zoo, glitter tattoos and autumn wreath decorating. Attendees also enjoyed freshly made popcorn, cotton candy, and transforming mini-donuts into edible monsters.
McMahon was happy to be a part of the fun event and thanks all those who attended and volunteered. Ms. McCann added that the Fall Festival has always been a fun morning and she was happy to keep the tradition alive. “It was a perfect fall morning, from the beautiful weather to the smiles on the kids’ faces,” she exclaimed.
The MGM is a member-based organization that holds a number of regular events throughout the year.
