The Mineola girls varsity volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory this weekend to propel them into the County Finals game where they will take on Seaford High School. The finals game takes place Wednesday, Nov. 9 at SUNY Old Westbury at 4:30 p.m.
The team’s two outside hitters, Sam Schroeder (junior) and Colette Maloney (sophomore) have recorded the highest number of kills per match all season. Starting setter, senior, Tori Ondris has played an integral part of the offense this season. The team’s other senior, Serena Berger, a seasoned middle player, is an established fixture in the offensive system, but more importantly, in the defense as she has racked up the highest number of stuff blocks this season.
