Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department (M-LFD) Companies 3, 4 and 5, and the Ambulance Unit were dispatched to 59 Meadow Woods Rd. in the Village of Lake Success for a reported bedroom fire on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 6:34 p.m.
Deputy Chief Stone was the first to respond and was advised by M-LFD dispatch that the Lake Success Police Department was on scene reporting a working fire. Stone arrived within minutes and transmitted a Signal 10 for a working fire, with heavy flames visible from the second floor.
The Engine 8740 crew began extinguishing the fire and Engine 8758 stretched a second hose line. Quint 8728, a combination ladder, truck and engine, was requested to the scene. Crews from Companies 2 and 3 assisted with opening the attic, where the fire had extended, and extinguishing the blaze.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire, and all units were released by 9:30 p.m.
