Eastport Man Fatally Hit by Taxi

A 42-year-old Eastport man was fatally hit by a taxi cab in Hampton Bays over the weekend.

New York State police said a driver for Sunset Taxi was traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway when he struck Richard Styles, who was standing in the roadway near exit 65 at 2:22 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

State police ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-756-3300.
