Members of the Great Neck Alert Fire Company paid a visit to one of their own on the annual trip to the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Firemen’s Home in Hudson, NY, where they spent time visiting with the residents, lifting their spirits and bringing good cheer. Former Great Neck resident Jack Meier (front row on left), who served as a volunteer firefighter for the Alerts for 25 years, now resides at the Firemen’s Home. The visitors included Meier’s two sons, Bradley and Jason, who are also members of the Alert Fire Company. Bradley serves as the company’s financial secretary and Jason is the company’s vice president. The Firemen’s Home, located on the banks of the Hudson River overlooking the Catskill Mountains, is a licensed and certified residential health-care facility dedicated to the care of New York State volunteer firefighters.
