Robert Noble Palmer, Jr., 84

Robert N. Palmer, Jr., 84, formerly of Great Neck, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16 in Largo, FL. He is survived by his children, Raymond Johnson Palmer (Diane), Anne Elizabeth Palmer and grandson Robert Johnson Palmer (Coral). He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Noble Palmer, Sr., and Anne Grasing Palmer, and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Palmer.

Bob was born April 5, 1932, in Great Neck and graduated from the Asheville School in North Carolina, Amherst College (’45) and University of Virginia Law School (’48). At Amherst, he was president of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

Raised in Great Neck, Bob became the owner of Palmer Chevrolet after the passing of his father. He spent most of his career in law, starting as an attorney and serving as deputy chief clerk of the Suffolk County Supreme Court until his retirement in 2010. He raised his family in Glen Cove and later moved to the Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL.

Bob was a voracious reader who loved history, boating, fishing, numismatics and a good bottle of red wine.
