Alex Schneider was presented with an award from the Greater Long Island Running Club for being the club’s champion in the 25-29 age group at the Dec. 20 open meeting, which was held before an audience of more than 200 runners and their guests in the auditorium of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library. “Our annual awards night is the best night of the year for our club,” said Greater Long Island Running Club President Mike Polansky. “Alex Schneider is an outstanding athlete and it is our pleasure to honor his accomplishment in this way.”
