A 26-year-old North Amityville man was shot and wounded during a home invasion on Monday evening, Suffolk County police said.
Three men armed with handguns entered a Madison Avenue home and shot a resident in his stomach at 5:05 p.m., police said.
The trio then fled the scene. It’s unclear what they stole. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The incident came a week after three men armed with guns committed a home invasion on East Cherry Street in Central Islip at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 10, police said. The trio in that case fled the scene with money. That victim was not injured.
Detectives are continuing the investigations and ask anyone with information on these cases to call anonymously to Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
