Floral Park Memorial High School Spanish teacher Gina D’Ammassa has been named Teacher of the Month and Athletic Department Secretary Maryanne Iaquinta has been named Staff Member of the Month, both for April.
D’Ammassa is in her sixth year of teaching at Floral Park Memorial. Her creativity shows up in her lessons every day, as she uses her extensive travels and her own experiences to teach Spanish in a unique, fun way. Students who have studied with her can attest to her excitement for teaching Spanish. As student activities director, she is highly organized, efficient and willing to go the extra mile for all students.
Iaquinta has been a part of the athletic office for the last five years. She is a key component in making sure that the physical education and athletic department run smoothly and efficiently. Some of her daily activities include rescheduling games, making up programs, finalizing team rosters and making up the athletes’ end-of-the-year awards.
