The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD) recently welcomed New York State Senator Elaine Phillips to district headquarters to showcase its state-of-the-art facility. Phillips joined the commissioners in an in-depth discussion to learn about the district’s new projects and initiatives and commend its continual investments in fiscally responsible and environmentally friendly technologies.
District Superintendent Christopher Murphy described ongoing and proposed eco-friendly projects at length, including the ultraviolet disinfection system, anaerobic digesters, micro-turbine upgrades and the planned grease-receiving station. Commissioner Steve Reiter and Commissioner Patty Katz also shared the district’s mission to deliver lasting value to the community.
