A 60-year-old woman was fatally hit by an SUV while crossing a road in her hometown of Huntington Station on Monday night.
Suffolk County police said Margaret Smith was crossing New York Avenue when she was struck by a Chevrolet Suburban at the corner of Railroad Street at 10 p.m.
The victim was taken to Huntington Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured.
Second Squad detectives impounded the truck, are continuing the and ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8252.
