Singh Honored At Vaisakhi Celebration

Singh 42617ANassau County Executive Ed Mangano, along with the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights, hosted a Vaisakhi celebration on Wednesday, April 12, at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. Vaisakhi is the spring harvest festival which marks the Sikh new year, and is traditionally celebrated in the Punjab region. Mangano presented a citation to Arvin Singh of Woodbury, co-founder and CEO of Posh Group Corp., among other members of the Punjabi and Sikh communities in Nassau County, in honor of their impressive accomplishments.

“The Human Rights Commission is proud to have hosted Nassau County’s first ever Vaisakhi celebration at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building,” said Mangano. “This is a milestone for the Sikh and Punjabi communities, who have made America home for more than a century, and also for Nassau, a county devoted to equality and diversity. Together we celebrate the community, prosperity and continued progress in the year ahead.”
