A West Hempstead man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old man to death in the victim’s hometown of Brooklyn over the weekend, New York City police said.

Merciful Johnson was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The NYPD said the 31-year-old suspect stabbed Ean Bethea-Windsor in the neck on East 108 Street in Canarsie at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he died. Johnson was arrested at his home on Sunday.

The New York Daily News reported that the stabbing occurred when a fight broke out during a BBQ.

A judge ordered Johnson held without bail. He is due back in Brooklyn court Friday.

Johnson was paroled in February after being convicted in Nassau County on drug and weapons charges, records show.
