Art Teacher Accepted Into National Association

“Awakening”

Saddle Rock School art teacher Rosemary Sloggatt will soon become a member of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), the oldest women’s fine art organization in the country. She was selected for this honor through a competitive juried selection process.

“Déjuener”

The induction ceremony will be held on Nov. 9 at the Rubin Museum of Art in Chelsea and will include a new members’ exhibit, which will continue through Nov. 29 at the NAWA Gallery, located at 15 West 39th St. in Manhattan. Sloggatt will have three pieces of art on display—“Awakening,” “Déjuener” and “Smoke.”

Open to all women artists ages 18 and older who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, NAWA offers three categories of membership—regular juried, associate and student artists—and describes itself as “a vibrant community of professional women artists that strives to support its members, and women artists at large, through exhibitions, programs and education.”
