Help make the holiday season brighter for kids in need across Long Island. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island needs your help by donating new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards to benefit their Holiday For Kids’ Sake Program. The organization is collecting gifts now through Dec. 11.
Many families in the program are unable to provide for their children this time of year. The Holiday for Kids’ Sake program creates holiday magic by providing gifts, meals with all the trimmings and other necessities to more than 100 families and nearly 300 children.
To sponsor a child or to make a donation call 631-234-0000, ext. 201.
New and unwrapped items for teenage boys and girls include:
- Sporting goods
- Bath and body gift baskets
- Headphones
- Makeup
- Costume jewelry
- Books
- Board games
- Arts and crafts
Gift cards to Target, Old Navy, Walmart, Toys R Us, iTunes and Best Buy are welcomed. Monetary donations are accepted as well.
If you are able to sponsor a teen, BBBSLI will provide you with the first name, gender, age, size and favorite colors/teams of the teen(s) you sponsor. For each teen, the organization will provide a wish list of items (under $30 each). All gifts are delivered just in time for the holidays.
All donations should be received by Monday, Dec. 11. For more information, contact Chuck Lott at clott@bbbsli.org or 516-731-7880, ext. 201.
