The Manhasset Art Association (MAA) announced a new exhibit called On the Easel and Through the Lens at the Great Neck Library at 159 Bayview Ave. in Great Neck. The MAA will host a reception on Saturday, March 10, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibit will run until April 18 and will feature a variety of media, including photography. Approximately 40 artists from the 90-member MAA are expected to participate.
The distinguished judge for this show will be Dr. Thomas Germano, professor of art and art history, public art lecturer and published author.
Now in its 70th year of operation, the MAA offers three major exhibits each year in local libraries and galleries, workshops with a live model and a general meeting/lecture each month. The MAA currently boasts members hailing from the environs of Queens and Long Island.
Entirely member/volunteer-supported, the MAA offers a spirit of cooperation, friendship and a forum to exchange ideas while fostering a greater appreciation and advancement of arts in the community. For information about membership, contact membership chairperson Barbara Silbert at barbarascanvas@gmail.com or call 516-767-2087.
MAA President Martha Klein is looking forward to exhibiting the member’s work at this beautiful newly refurbished library. “Our talented artists interpret their world in oils, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, colored pencil, photography and monoprinting.”
