Helen’s Walk/Run Set For April 22

HelenWalk 041818BOn Sunday, April 22, people of all ages and abilities will join together at the Sands Point Preserve for Helen’s Run/Walk 2018. Enjoy the beauty of Sands Point as locals run or walk with a purpose, to support people who live with a combined vision and hearing loss. The annual 5K/3.1 mile event benefits the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC) and its mission to support those living with combined vision and hearing loss.

Deaf-blind student Elizabeth Aguilera is featured in a new video stating, “This event is for everyone. Deaf-blind, hearing, sighted—come down and join the fun. Jump on board and walk or run. Whatever floats your boat. It’s a great opportunity to meet the community. All the money raised goes straight to supporting the training and advocacy needs of deaf-blind people at HKNC.”

Check-in runs from 7:45 to 9 a.m. and the race begins promptly at 9:30 a.m.
