For our seasonal Wintertime! special, Anton Media Group held a cover contest where artists from the Long Island Academy of Fine Art (LIAFA) submitted their work in tune with the theme of winter.

The winning entry was Eri Kazu Suzuki’s painting titled “Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.” Suzuki, of Hicksville, is a working mother of two. She studied hair color under renowned hair colorist Louis Licari for several years, and currently works as a hair colorist at his Fifth Avenue salon. Her painting “Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church,” featured in this issue, is from a photo she took across the street from the salon last winter.

Honorable Mention goes to Steve Forster

Suzuki always liked to draw and paint since she was a little girl. She started studying classical painting at the Long Island Academy of Fine Art (LIAFA) one year ago. In addition to helping her understand color and color theory, LIAFA has also given her a little peace and quiet in the midst of her otherwise busy, noisy life.
