Sephardic Film Festival

The star-studded 22nd NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival 2019 will feature world premiere narratives, documentaries, comedies and critical perspectives with films touching on communities in Morocco, France, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, Syria and Iraq, along with filmmaker appearances and Pomegranate Awards recognizing Sephardi excellence in the arts, at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th St. Tu Boca en Los Cielos, Your Wishes in Heaven, will premiere at Instituto Cervantes, 211 East 49th St.; www.nysephardifilmfestival.org.

Elementary Enrichment

Register for the third trimester of the Great Neck Public Schools Elementary AM/PM Enrichment Program, which runs from March 18 to May 31, at E.M. Baker, John F. Kennedy, Lakeville and Saddle Rock. The tuition-based program offers weekly before- and after-school courses for 10 weeks for $100 per course. Morning courses include academic and physical activities for second through fifth graders. After-school Latin and Spanish courses for fourth and fifth graders will be offered. Free Tax Preparations

North Hempstead and the Health & Welfare Council of LI will offer free tax preparation for households earning less than $55,000 in 2018 at Clinton G. Martin Park, 1601 Marcus Ave. in New Hyde Park, with a follow up on March 20. Make an appointment by calling 311.

Drug Awareness Presentation

As this month marks 40 years since the 1979 Iranian Revolution which led to the influx of Persian Jews to Great Neck, Sephardic Heritage Alliance Inc. (SHAI) and the Iranian Mothers Association (IMA) will present a free program by Amudim, featuring Nassau Chief of Police Patrick Ryder and other experts on recognizing signs of drug abuse and offering rehabilitation resources at 7 p.m. at Great Neck Synagogue, 26 Old Mill Rd.; www.shaiusa.org.

SH Fundraiser Concert

South High’s Music Fundraiser for restoration of one of its two Steinway grand pianos, featuring band, choir, orchestra, chamber music and a preview of the upcoming Die Fledermaus opera performance, will begin with a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. at 341 Lakeville Rd.
