Harlem Wizards
7-9 p.m. The East Street PTA will host the Harlem Wizards at the Hicksville Middle School, 215 Jerusalem Ave. Get ready for high-flying entertainment and fun! College Application Discussion
7:15 p.m. Leslie and Bernie Bilawsky, college admission consultants, will discuss the college application and admission process, and answer your questions. Public vs. private colleges? Dementia Care For Families
1 p.m. A representative from the Parker Jewish Institute presents this dementia care training program produced by the Alzheimer’s Association to help caregivers understand how to better care for persons with dementia. The program includes interactive training videos of real caregivers, families and people with dementia. Learn evidence-based practices as well as specialized techniques to help you manage behavior and provide care to people with dementia at every stage of the disease. No registration required. Virtual Reality Training
2:30 p.m. Teleport around boundless virtual worlds at the Hicksville Library with its new VIVE Virtual Reality gaming system. VIVE is available to ages 6 and up on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit www.hicksvillelibrary.org to sign up for a time slot. Walk-ins are on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is held in the Training Room located on the main level of the library.
Creative Art
4:30 p.m. Join Tina Geller for a spooky month of crafts. Children ages 5-8 will create their own cool, wearable masks. They will also make a unique door decoration. Classes take place Thursdays, Oct. 17 and 24 at the Hicksville Public Library. Register in advance.

7 p.m. This is a must-see slide presentation and discussion for anyone who really wants to succeed in business! SCORE presenters guide you through the various steps required to start your own business. They’ll share real life experiences from starting to running their own business. Pet Adoption Fundraiser/Classic Car Show
10 a.m.-4 p.m. The fundraiser will benefit Pets4Luv Foundation’s objective to relocate and rebuild following an eviction from its previous location. The animal rescue helps abandoned abused, inured and disabled animals, and assists with veterinary medical bills. Donations are tax deductible. $5 entry fee per person. $20 to display your classic car. 1:30 p.m. Amazing Grace (Rated G, 87 mins) will be screened a the Hicksville Public Library. The 2018 documentary features singer Aretha Franklin performs gospel songs at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles in 1972.

Free Immigration Legal Clinic
10 a.m. The Office for New Americans (ONA) will provide a legal immigration clinic in which you can obtain free legal help with your citizenship application, Green card renewal, requesting your immigration file, work-permit renewal, and other applications filed with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Broadway Ballads and Showstoppers
1 p.m. For well over a century, musical theater has been at the forefront of the performing arts not just in America but around the globe. The vast majority of memorable songs by composers such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin were written for the Broadway stage and their music continues to live on in new productions both here and in hundreds of smaller community theaters.
