Adopt One of These Loving Senior Pets on Long Island

Animal shelters and rescues have been inundated with new residents lately, many of which are seniors. Dogs and cats who once knew a loving home now find themselves outside of the only environment they’ve ever known. Can you open your heart and home to any one of these deserving pups and kitties?

Available for adoption at Last Hope Animal Rescue

Gypsy
Gypsy

**Senior Alert – Special Request** Can you give Gypsy the gift of a forever home? This sweet gal was blessed with a loving Mom for 15 years. Last Hope has all of her vet records showing such dedication to her care. And Gypsy is in good health for her advanced age. Her mom passed suddenly, leaving four dogs. Their mom was a long-time friend of Last Hope’s Georgia partner shelter. All four came to Last Hope at the Georgia shelter’s request. Gypsy’s sweetness shows as she steps lively. She has aged well with the devotion she’s received.

If you can help Gypsy complete her life’s journey with someone who would continue to bestow such love on her, please contact Last Hope at lasthopeanimalrescue.org

Emogene

Emogene is not just a lover, but she is just like having a puppy by your side. She is stunningly gorgeous and sweet, and on top of all this seems to love other pets and older children. This 1-to-2-year-old can overstimulate easily so she is being suggested for a home with older children. petfinder.com

Patches and Goose are two of the cutest 3-year-old Tuxedo Bombay mixes you’ve ever seen- and they are ready for snuggles right now! They seem to not be bothered by other pets and definitely fine with children. Once they are comfy in a new home, you will think you have hit the kitten jackpot! These two must stay together as they are bonded – best friends to each other and to you. Patches: petfinder.com Goose: petfinder.com

Fran and Val
Fran and Val

**Double Adoption** Fran (Adoption #H204283) and Val (Adoption #H204284) have lived their whole lives together. Now these devoted 9-year-old sisters are looking for a fresh start and we think their chances are fantastic. While Fran is content to let her more outgoing sister take center stage, Val is ready to be the life of the party in any room. You’ll find the balance between them is part of their charm, and soon see that offering them a place to resume their content lives was just the thing missing in yours. There’s a lot to love about Fran and Val, and a diet to help get their weight into a healthier range is part of the plan to make sure they’re living comfortably the rest of their lives. Adopting a senior is the greatest experience you can give yourself; adopting a bonded pair is the easiest way to become a hero!

Ophelia
Ophelia

The exceedingly lovely Ophelia (Adoption #H210280) has become quite content in her comfy bed, but she’ll allow her nap to be interrupted if you’re offering her some gentle chin scratches. This locally rescued 2-year-old lady has been dreaming about your visit, hoping it will lead to many more years of those chin scratches which she will return with a heart full of love and gratitude. But first … she needs to finish that nap!

Burrito
Burrito

**Senior Alert** Burrito (Adoption #L80565) is a sweet 10-year-old gentleman who was discovered locally and brought to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center for safety. He’s been making human fans very quickly as we prepare him to meet his furever family. Burrito was a purrfect patient as he received a dental exam and is now getting VIP treatment as his vets create an easy plan for caring for his hyperthyroidism. NSALA loves to spoil him to make up for the rough time he experienced while abandoned on the streets, and he returns our affection with so much appreciation! He prefers human company to cats, so we’re actively purrsuing a home where he can be the center of attention. Burrito is deaf, which makes him all the more remarkable because he doesn’t miss a thing with those wandering eyes. He’ll require no extra care for his hearing loss—just lots of love and cuddles assuring him he is indeed the best boy!

Di Melo
Di Melo

8-year-old Di Melo (Adoption #BF3681) has been actively working his whole life for the opportunity to be someone’s best friend. When he was too friendly for the store he called home, he was cast outside where he befriended everyone in sight. Now this dashing tabby is safe and sound inside Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. He couldn’t be happier to rub his chubby cheeks against visitors in hopes that someone won’t be able to resist his charms. If you absolutely must have the friendliest cat as your own, Di Melo is pawtiently waiting for you!

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter

Rocky
Rocky

**Senior Alert** Rocky is a 12+ years old German Shepherd described as an affectionate pup who adores going for walks and rubbing on your legs like a cat. Do not let his age fool you, Rocky has no idea he should be slowing down. Rocky is losing his hearing and has arthritis, so a potential home would have to be able to medicate him and teach him how to adjust to hearing loss. Rocky would prefer to be an only pet.

If you are interested in meeting Rocky, please call 631-360-7575 for more information today!

As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
