Cohen’s Fashion Optical celebrated the official grand opening of its new location at 720 Old Country Rd. in Riverhead on Aug. 7.
Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar officiated the event by cutting the ceremonial red ribbon. Owners of Cohen’s Fashion Optical, Charlotte and Raymond Smilovich, greeted guests with a champagne toast and a sneak peek at Charlotte’s new eyewear line, Charlotte Rose. Anthony Kowal, the son of Charlotte and Ray, also debuted his own designer eyewear collection, Anthony Remigio Eyewear.
At the grand opening, L’May America, one of the world’s leading fashion accessory companies, previewed its Champion sunglass capsule collection in collaboration with Andre Trenier, who is a professional artist best known for his murals surrounding Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. During the event, Trenier wowed the guests by painting a custom mural while L’ May America raffled off prizes to a few lucky winners.
Christine Degen, of Events by Christine D, helped organize the afternoon full of good food, great music, and fantastic company. Music was provided by Joseph Pecora (DJ Eclipse), of High Profile Productions, hor d’oeuvres by Farm Country Kitchen, and delicious desserts and spectacular presentation by Angelica Korth of Angelica’s Custom Gifts.
